Here is an original condition Gary Sugal wood jazz mouthpiece. There are no markings on this mouthpiece but it measures .103" on my gauge.
Gary Sugal was one of the early players in the emerging mouthpiece market in the 1980's. During this time there was a gap in the market for professional quality saxophone mouthpieces that was being filled by Gary and others such as Barone and Guardala.
I decided to add this to the collection mostly due to the unique combo of metal profile combined with the nice lightweight of the African blackwood that it's made from. The second reason is that it's on my 'I'd love to work on" list. Contact me if you are interested in this as a project.
The original ligature is missing but this mouthpiece can take a vintage ToneMaster ligature or several Rovner ligatures.
